About Me

I am currently helping improve healthcare by bringing treatments to patients more quickly. At Miracle, we are working with biotech/pharma companies to speed up clinical trials by extracting actionable insights from across all their data.

I have always had a keen interest in medicine growing up and initially wanted to become a doctor. I was a pre-med at MIT, and I had also taken the MCAT. I took a gap year to apply to medical schools and also work in health tech, and this was when I realized that becoming a doctor was one of many ways to help improve healthcare. I found myself at a unique intersection between healthcare and technology, where I could help improve healthcare at scale, especially considering how behind healthcare is with regards to techonology adoption.

I like to stay active in all dimensions of life, whether it be reading, lifting weights, traveling to new places, and uncovering new eateries to share on my food blog @EatLikeABOS. I am also a huge basketball fan, always on the lookout for the next Woj bomb in the NBA. Go Clippers! (another disappointing season, I know...)

Experiences

InterSystems

I spent a number of years as a Sales Engineer in healthcare, where I helped some of the largest health systems and pharma companies in the US develop data warehousing solutions to integrate all their data into a single source of truth. I worked alongside engineers and executives to work with end users and decision makers to ensure smooth adoption of technology. I later transitioned to Product Management, where I led the healthcare analytics team of 5 engineers to revamp the company's analytics offering.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

I did both my undergrad and grad school at MIT. I completed the Master of Engineering program focused on AI, where my research was focused on Computer Vision to restore eye contact in Zoom calls. As an undergrad, I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Course 6) and minored in Biology (Course 7) as a pre-med. I served as the President of Korean Students Association (KSA), competed nationally with the MIT Archery Club, and volunteered with Camp Kesem at MIT.

United States Archery Team

I picked up a bow and arrows in 2010 and was fortunate to train under USA National Head Coach Kisik Lee. I shoot an Olympic-style recurve, and I competed nationally and internationally over the years, making a team medal match appearance at the 2014 International Archery Festa. I earned selections to the 2014 US Archery Team and USA Junior Dream Team.
